Part of our Purpose-Built collection, Persimmon and ACV Stay Fresh is built around kakishibu, a Japanese persimmon tannin long known for its traditional use against stubborn body odor. It's especially suited for odor linked to the natural changes in skin chemistry that come with age, as well as the everyday odor that builds from an active lifestyle or a hard workout. Persimmon tannin is known for binding to odor rather than simply masking it with fragrance, which is part of what sets it apart from regular soap.

This bar is hot-processed specifically so the apple cider vinegar, persimmon tannin, and a dose of probiotic-rich yogurt can be added after the cook, preserving their benefits rather than losing them to the heat of the process.

Scented with bright citron and mandarin, layered with grapefruit, peach, and orange with a soft hint of vanilla and musk. No added color here. The soft brown with a hint of purple comes naturally from the tannin reacting with the apple cider vinegar.

As with all our hand-cut bars, small differences in size and weight are normal from one to the next.

*Sodium hydroxide, or lye, is necessary to make soap. No lye, no soap. It is converted through a chemical process called saponification into soap and glycerin. No lye remains in the finished bar.
